First Day in New York

Monday was our first full day in New York and we headed straight for Times Square. As it happens, Kenny who we met in DC, sent me a text to say Jerry Springer was there but by the time we got there he was leaving and we were only able to see the top of his head as he was surrounded. Time Square was insane, just as I imagined it. We walked east and grabbed a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery, made famous by Sex and the City. Kenny kept leading us east to Radio City Music Hall and then on to Rockafella Plaza. We then stumbled across the Columbus day Parade down 5th Avenue.

Monday night we met up with Christie's friend Dan in Brooklyn where he took us to see a Beatles Burlesque show. This was essentially a random band playing Beatles songs and girls doing burlesque to the songs. There was even a boy-esque performer. Now when I say burlesque dancing, please read 'essentially a strip show'. It certainly wouldn't have been my preferred way to spend the evening, but it was certainly an experience.
