On Sunday, aside from the fact that everything is closed in Belgium on a Sunday, it was a public holiday so there was no chance to explore any towns properly. It was decided that we would do something that was free and that involved nature, which meant we got to see one of my favourite things; Autumn leaves.
Fun times on the road
Driving to Zonienwoud Forest
Niels drove us to Zonienwoud Forest which is on the south-eastern side of Brussels. It is over 10 000 acres and stretches over three regions in Belgium. It was so pretty (and cold) and I think the others got sick of my exclamations of how much I loved it.
Loving the Autumn colours
After the forest, we drove through Brussels to the medieval Gaasbeek
Castle. It was getting dark but we managed to have a quick look before
the grounds were closed. It was so cold after the sun went down but it
was well worth it!

Wow! That forest looks amazing, so many pretty colours. The castle is beautiful too. So jealous right now. I so should've just got on the plane with you! hehe. xx
